Looks like Lon actually has Noah’s back! James Marsden recently offered parenting advice to his former The Notebook costar Ryan Gosling. Us broke news that Gosling welcomed baby girl Esmeralda Amada last month with Eva Mendes.
“Make it through the first year! You’ll get your sleep eventually,” Marsden, 41, told Yahoo on Thursday, Oct. 16, while promoting his latest Nicholas Sparks film, The Best of Me. “You go through those sleep-deprived months where you don’t know who you are or where you are, or what’s happening.”
“But just enjoy every second of it I guess. He’s a good man,” the X-Men star added of Gosling, 33. “He’s very intelligent and he seems very in tune with his young self.”
Marsden has plenty of input to give. The actor shares son Jack, 13, and daughter Mary, 9, with his ex-wife Linde. He also welcomed baby boy William with Brazilian model Rose Costa in December 2012.
During his chat with Yahoo, Marsden also noted how Gosling could use his musical background to bond with his little girl.
“He has a band [Dead Man’s Bones] and he sings with a children’s choir. He’s a very talented musician and a very gifted guitar player and vocalist,” Marsden said. “He doesn’t parade it around a lot. He has an album out and he’s surrounded by this kid’s choir, so I guess my mind went to that when I think how great he’s going to be as a father.”
Marsden, too, has experience behind the mic, showing off his talent in hits like Hairspray and Enchanted. As for whether the two actors ever jammed together between scenes on the Notebook set back in 2004? Marsden revealed: “We didn’t, but I would!”
