J. Law who? Jennifer Lawrence may be one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, but sometimes even celebrities have their off days.
During her interview on The Graham Norton Show — which is airing on Friday, May 13 — Lawrence, 25, recounted one embarrassing incident in which she and her pal, British comedian Jack Whitehall, were having a night out on the town when they saw J.J. Abrams and Harrison Ford.
Lawrence sidled over to the Hollywood hotshots and started dancing — but she didn’t quite get the reaction she’d hoped for.
“I probably humiliated myself more than ever before,” the X-Men: Apocalypse star said. “I never assume anyone knows who I am, but when I spotted Harrison Ford and J.J. Abrams I was like, ‘It’ll be fine, we’re all coworkers, right?’”
“So I went up to them and started dancing like an idiot and the whole table just went quiet and stared at me,” she continued. “I realized while I am dancing that they had absolutely no idea who I was so I just turned around and walked back to Jack, dying of embarrassment.”
To make matters worse, Whitehall got a proper hello from Ford (the pair recently filmed a show together) while Lawrence was iced out.
“Jen had just been blanked and I was like, ‘Hey, it’s alright, I’ll go and say hi to Harrison.’ And everyone was like, ‘Jack, don’t do this. It will be humiliating,’” the comedian recalled. “I get up and walk over thinking, ‘Oh God, maybe he won’t remember me and I’m going to be humiliated too.’ And literally as I walked over he stood up and shouted, ‘Hey, Jack!’ It was so funny.”
Lawrence reassured Norton that the Star Wars actor later figured out who she was and wrote her a note, possibly “because someone with a 12-year-old must have told him who I was!”
