Alejandro Jodorowsky seems to have been listening to his share of Jesse McCartney. The Chilean filmmaker was reunited with his big time fan Kanye West on Wednesday, June 18.
“The reunion with Kanye West was very pleasant,” he tweeted in Spanish. “I saw an honest being, with a beautiful child-like soul. He puts on a big show. I read him his Tarot.”
Jodorowsky’s 1973 film The Holy Mountain is rumored to be the inspiration behind West’s over-the-top Yeezus Tour. The director posted several photos with Kim Kardashian’s husband on Twitter, including one where the two pose with Oscar-winning director Spike Jonze.
“I was surprised by the purity of West, and his deep desire to create work that develops awareness of young people,” Jodorowsky tweeted.
The day before the meeting with his inspiration, West spoke at the Cannes Lions Creativity Conference in Cannes, France, where he discussed his wedding to Kardashian and technology.
“I’ve been brought up in this way—I think I can't work with anyone that isn't number one: Jay Z, Kim, Obama, Apple is one, Samsung isn’t,” West said of working with the greats.
