Whoops! Jenny McCarthy revealed Tuesday, Sept. 16, on Good Day NY, why she doesn't wear her wedding ring and how she feels about the new cast of The View.
"I’ve already lost the ring," McCarthy, 41, said on the local Fox program. "We were staying in a hotel and you can’t have a wedding ring on… it’s a little hard to get romantic with diamonds on your hand. I removed it and put it on the room service table and they came and turned down the room and the ring was gone… But you know what though? If you’re gonna lose your wedding ring, you should lose it that way."
Us Weekly exclusively revealed McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg's wedding album earlier this month, after the newlyweds tied the knot on Aug. 31 in St. Charles, Ill. "I won the lottery," Wahlberg told Us, while his blushing bride added: "We are ready to live happily ever after."
McCarthy's life as a newlywed includes even more changes for the on-air personality, who departed The View in early July with pal Sherri Shepherd. "They wanted to make sure the table was diverse," McCarthy told Good Day of producers' decision to bring in fresh faces. "So they considered when Rosie [O'Donnell] was coming back it was too liberal and they wanted a conservative and they wanted a Latina, so they got Rosie Perez and their Elisabeth [Hasselbeck] if you will, so that way it was a balanced table with more diversity." (Conservative political commentator Nicole Wallace presumably is filling Hasselbeck's place after she left The View for Fox & Friends in 2013.)
McCarthy added in the interview that she hasn't watched the newly-revamped show. "I’ve been working, but I’ve heard people call me and say 'I like it,' 'I don’t like it,' 'I like the set,' 'I don’t like the set,' so I’ve been hearing mixed reviews," she said.
Still, McCarthy said there were no hard feelings between her and the show. "Absolutely not," she said. "I got to work with Barbara Walters. One thing I missed was people coming up to me going, 'I miss you being you,' like I really couldn’t, you know.' When I went over to Sirius Radio, they’ve given me a month spot to see if I liked it and it turned out to be a full-time gig and I start in October and the freedom to say what you want is wonderful."
