Actor Emile Hirsch allegedly assaulted a female film executive at the Sundance Film Festival this past weekend -- get the latest update here.

Police are currently investigating an alleged assault case involving actor Emile Hirsch and a female film executive, Us Weekly has learned.

The executive at Paramount Pictures has claimed that Hirsch assaulted her on Sunday, Jan. 25, at TAO nightclub as the Sundance Film Festival continues in Park City, Utah.

A source tells Us that the confrontation did take place between Hirsch and the Paramount Pictures exec. "Last night, Emile Hirsch got into a fight with an executive at Paramount at TAO Sundance," the insider tells Us, "and the executive was looking into pressing charges against Emile this morning."

The same source confirms to Us that the executive was female and the incident occurred at around 3:30 a.m.

The Park City Police Department tells Us: "We are still investigating the case and cannot provide details at this time." Authorities say they will submit an official report once the investigation is complete.

An eyewitness told Page Six, which first reported the story, that police were called and no arrests were made at the time. "Something happened between the movie exec and Emile, and she said she had been assaulted and asked security to call the police," the source told Page Six. "Emile didn’t leave the scene, and calmly waited for the police to arrive, and spoke with them until around 5 a.m., after which he went home with his friends. No arrests were made."

Hirsch, 29, a father of one to 14-month-old son Valor, is currently at Sundance to promote his upcoming movie Ten Thousand Saints. His latest project, takes place in the '80s, and co-stars Hailee Steinfeld and Avan Jogia, will premiere this Friday at Robert Redford's annual film festival.

The star's agent did not respond to a request for comment involving the incident. Paramount has yet to respond to Us' request for comment.
