While the rest of the Internet is talking about the now-epic elevator fight between Solange Knowles and Jay Z, we are enamored with the chambray jumpsuit that her bystander sister Beyonce wore to the Brooklyn Nets game on Monday, May 12.
Thanks to the one-piece’s darker top and medium wash bottom, initially it appeared that Beyonce, 32, took a cue from bride-to-be Kim Kardashian, who rocked denim-on-denim while in Paris on April 30. Closer inspection, however, revealed that the look is actually a chambray romper. The Longsleeve Jumpsuit by 6397 ($595, Lagarconne.com) featured a collar and button-down “shirt” with whiskered, fitted legs.
Beyonce isn’t alone in her affinity to the easy style.
Naomi Watts and Jessica Alba are also fans of the chambray jumpsuit, with each wearing the Splendid Tapered Chambray Jumpsuit. The $168 one-piece, available at Nordstrom.com, features spaghetti straps and a drawstring waist. The lightweight fabric can easily transition from the warm to hot months, especially when paired with a cardigan like Alba. Or, to dress up the style, slip on open-toed heels and a statement necklace.
