Emily Blunt, John Krasinski Prank Jimmy Kimmel in a Huge Way: Watch

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are dangerous friends to have. The married stars are close personal pals and neighbors to Jimmy Kimmel and his wife Molly Kimmel in the Hollywood Hills, but the talk show host may be reconsidering that relationship this week.

“You probably know Emily is married to John Krasinski,” Kimmel, 47, began on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, Dec. 15. “John and Emily, not only are my wife and I very good friends with them, they’re our neighbors. We live right across the street from each other. We have a holiday tradition that was started by them a few years back.”

Said tradition involves the Blunt-Krasinskis and the Kimmels trading pranks. What began as a simple surprise of the actors sneaking into Kimmel’s house and leaving a light display of a snowman and Santa quickly escalated to neon signs, garden installations, and a 26-foot tall inflatable reindeer.

Kimmel thought he put the rivalry to bed last December, when he wrapped Blunt and Krasinski’s house in wrapping paper and decorated it with fake snow, wreaths, and holiday decorations. The funnyman was in for a surprise, however, as this year Blunt and Krasinski took it to another level.

Confident he had won the prank war once and for all, an unassuming Kimmel was shown heading out to the parking lot of his studio after tapping Jimmy Kimmel Live! Kimmel’s departure was delayed though, as his SUV was covered in wrapping paper with the handles and tires wrapped individually and a red bow placed on top with a tag reading “From Your Secret Santa.” “Little did I know, my car had been wrapped from headlight to tailgate,” he said.

Once the wrapping paper was torn away, it was revealed that the car was “filled with baubles” as hundreds of ornaments took up every inch of the interior of the vehicle.

“I have to hand it to you, that is very impressive, you son of a bitch,” Kimmel said to a camera, addressing John Krasinski. As he opened the doors to the car, all of the ornaments came spilling out. But that was just the beginning. Krasinski and Blunt had more in store for Kimmel, as the Into the Woods actress explained on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday.

“The next night, after my car was filled with ornaments, I went out to the parking lot, and this happened.” Kimmel said, bringing up a video of himself approaching his car in the lot. The car was wrapped the same way, this time in a different pattern of wrapping paper and with different contents inside. As Kimmel began to unwrap, he jumped back because there were Christmas carolers inside of the car.

Dressed in festive garb and singing “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” the carolers were soon joined by a live reindeer and its Santa hat-wearing attendant.

“Not only were you terrified, and I love that you flinched… that was the best bit ever,” Blunt said. “But that, it is your nightmare — people singing at you.”

“Yeah, people singing right at me is uncomfortable for me,” Kimmel admitted. “By the way, I want to thank you for not putting the reindeer in my car.”
