Jimmy Fallon and Oprah Winfrey may have just created the world’s best soap opera. The two stars caught up on The Tonight Show on Monday, Dec. 15, and showed off their acting skills in a hilarious way.
“A lot of people don’t know this, but we actually, back in the ’80s, we starred in a TV show together,” Fallon, 40, began to his guest. “Do you remember that?”
“Of course I remember that!” exclaimed Winfrey, 60. “Midnight Meadows!”
As the stars reminisced about their (fake) past on the soap opera, Fallon added, “We played husband and wife, Broderick and Valentina Kensington.”
“This was a good show, it was a great show I would say, but the director at the time, he was a very interesting guy,” he continued. “He was experimenting with audio… he would change our voices during the scenes.”
Fallon then introduced a clip of himself and Winfrey on Midnight Meadows as the Kensingtons, in which their voices were taken up a few octaves, almost reaching Alvin and the Chipmunks levels.
Second and third clips showed the pair with dramatically low voices, and then finally auto-tuned pipes that would make T-Pain proud.
