Pretty punk in Paris! Kendall Jenner‘s modeling career keeps on gaining steam, and Kim Kardashian‘s little half sister made another bold impression on the runway for the Chanel Haute Couture show in Paris on Tuesday, July 8. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians starlet, 18, looked not much like the perky California teen with whom fans are familiar, strutting confidently in an ankle-length, off-the-shoulder red, black and yellow tweed dress festooned with feathers.
Mimicking those feathers, Jenner’s long brunette tresses were piled atop her head (held in a bun with a kerchief-like piece that matched her dress), creating a spiky punk ‘do. Carrying a matching chain-strap purse and wearing industrial-inspired sandals, Jenner didn’t crack a smile for the oh-so-serious runway moment for Karl Lagerfeld’s brand.
Momager Kris Jenner was beaming with pride from afar as pics from the show went online. “WOW!!! Congratulations @kendalljenner you look so beautiful walking in the Chanel Couture show just now!!!!! I’m so proud of you! Fabulous show @karllagerfeld,” Kris, 58, tweeted. (Actually present for the Paris show? Kristen Stewart, rocking a brand-new haircut.)
Kris and Bruce Jenner‘s second-youngest child was less covered up earlier this year for her Marc Jacobs catwalk moment, in which she wore a sheer top that completely exposed her breasts; she landed in Vogue Paris shortly before big sister Kim’s newsmaking American Vogue cover debut with Kanye West.
To prep for her big Chanel moment, Kendall was intent on getting her beauty sleep, as evidenced by a Monday Instagram snapshot shared from her Parisian hotel room. “Can the people next door be quiet? my freckles are trying to take a nap,” she wrote beside a pic in which she dozes in a plush white bathrobe.
