Lending a helping hand. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster has been outspoken about her battle with Lyme disease, and she revealed this week that she's helped out another celeb who is facing the same struggle.

"I took Avril under my wing when she first got sick and shared all I know," Foster, 51, said in an interview with Bravo's Daily Dish about her relationship with alt-pop princess Avril Lavigne.

Lavigne, 30, had been hinting at health issues for months, but finally clarified this week that she has been diagnosed with the infectious disease.

"I am so proud of her for going public," Foster added of the "Complicated" singer.

The Canadian performer first spoke of her health problems this past December. After staying out of the public eye for some time, Lavigne responded to a fan Twitter account's direct message, which asked if she was doing okay.

"I feel bad because I haven't been able to say anything to the fans to let them [know] why I've been absent," she wrote to the fan group at the time. "I'm not feeling well. I'm having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers."

Lavigne has been sharing well-wishes from fans and supporters via Twitter in recent months after they saw a lull in her recording schedule. Lavigne released her last album, the self-titled Avril Lavigne, in November 2013. She got married just a few months prior, exchanging vows with husband Chad Kroeger in July 2013.
