Guess all those singles add up! Prior to joining Hugh Hefner and his bevy of beauties at the Playboy Mansion, Kendra Wilkinson was taking her clothes off elsewhere — and making a lot of money for it. As she told her costars on British reality show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, she earned hundreds of thousands of dollars in just a few months of stripping.
“I just woke up and said, ‘I want to strip,'” the Kendra on Top star, now 29, said on the Thursday, Dec. 4 episode. “I’m just, like, a free spirit, and I’m like, ‘I just want to see how much money I could earn.'”
Quite a lot, it turns ou. After getting her stripper license at age 18, Wilkinson got a job at a local club. “My first night there, I made $4,000 just by sitting with a guy,” she bragged. “Because I was a new girl, and he just wanted to sit with me and get to know me. Four grand! The next day, I was like, ‘Um, I gotta quit dental assisting.'”
By her own admission, the California native wasn’t the most experienced or talented exotic dancer onstage. But that didn’t seem to matter to her customers.
“When I was a stripper, I didn’t know what to do, how to do it. I just kinda walked around the pole, took my clothes off…and money just came flying at you,” she shared.
“I only stripped for a couple months. But I made bank. Just cash, f—ing cash everywhere,” she continued. “I didn’t know what to do with it.”
Indeed, the Girls Next Door alum says she probably made “up to 500 grand” in the six months she stripped before moving in with Hef in 2004. “Registering to be a stripper and registering for a gun are the easiest two things you could do in America,” she joked.
