Kelly Rowland is finding solace in her son. The “Dirty Laundry” singer, 33, shared a sweet photo with her child on Friday, Dec. 5, writing that he is bringing her happiness following the devasting death of her mom earlier this week.
Rowland posted a picture via Instagram that shows a silhouetted shot of the singer with her son Titan, 1 month. The tot, whose father is Rowland’s husband Tim Weatherspoon, appears to be breastfeeding as the Destiny’s Child alum sits in front of a sunlit door.
“‘My only sunshine…… you make me happy, when skies are grey’ #TITAN #LIFE,” she captioned the shot.
Rowland’s grey skies were brought on by the untimely death of her mother, Doris Rowland Garrison. The new grandmother passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 2, just days before her 67th birthday on Dec. 6.
Rowland confirmed Garrison’s death in a statement earlier this week, calling her mother “an incredible soul.” The R&B performer previously wrote a tribute to her mother, penning a note to Garrison in honor of Mother’s Day in 2008.
“Momma, I remember when you’d clap your hands and listen as I sang… You’d look at me like I was the sun and the moon and say, ‘Sing up, baby… a little louder,'” she wrote at the time. “It meant so much that you believed in me… It was because of your strength and sacrifice that I was able to dream so big.”
