Michelle Obama Proves That Florals Work for Evening Too

Floral and fabulous! While attending the state dinner at the Palace of the Revolution in Havana, Cuba, on Monday, March 21, Michelle Obama rocked a knee-length, floral dress, proving that the typically casual print can work just as well in the evening, too.

The first lady of the United States, 52, donned the Naeem Khan design, which featured red and peach flowers on a black background, with a black clutch, tangerine earrings and patent pumps.

A loosely spun updo with sideswept bangs completed the breezy, though still polished, ensemble.

Meanwhile, her husband, President Barack Obama, looked dapper in a black suit with a blue tie.

The Obama family, including daughters Malia, 17, and Sasha, 14, landed on the island on Monday, marking the first trip to the country by an American president in 88 years. While Michelle descended from Air Force 1 wearing a rose-print Carolina Herrera dress, Malia modeled ASOS’s Ditsy Floral Dress (only $48!) and Sasha chose a black and white dress by Shoshanna.
