The NYPD said in a statement: “At approximately 7:15 p.m., the NYPD responded to a residential building at 100 Central Park South to investigate a report of a suspicious letter received by a tenant. The letter has been removed and is being examined by law enforcement authorities. No injuries have been reported in connection with this incident."

A preliminary field test indicated that the white substance that came with the piece of mail did not appear hazardous, says an ABC News source who was briefed on the matter. According to the outlet, the Secret Service and FBI, along with police, are investigating the letter sent to Eric’s Manhattan apartment at Trump Parc East.

ABC News reports that the letter carried a Boston postmark and allegedly stated that if Donald doesn’t drop out of the presidential race, harm will come to the Republican candidate and his family. Eric’s wife, Lara, opened the envelope in the couple’s kitchen when she noticed a suspicious white powder fall out, reports ABC News.
