Paying tribute. A clip from a 2013 episode of The Simpsons has resurfaced online following the deaths of rocker David Bowie and actor Alan Rickman.

The Fox series shared the short video on Twitter on Thursday, January 14, much to the delight of fans, who have viewed it more than 960,000 times on YouTube. The clip was from a Valentine’s Day episode titled “Love is a Many-Splintered Thing,” which parodied Rickman’s 2003 film Love Actually.

Benedict Cumberbatch voiced Rickman’s famed Harry Potter character, Professor Severus Snape, while the Bowie-penned “All the Young Dudes” played in the background.

The unearthed clip inadvertently serves as a beautiful tribute to the two artists, who both died earlier this week at the age of 69 after battles with cancer.

The Simpsons executive producers Matt Selman and Al Jean also paid tribute to Bowie on Twitter with a sketch of news anchor Kent Brockman wearing a Ziggy Stardust costume and another featuring Homer Simpson’s re-creation of one of Bowie’s iconic looks.
