Right to the point! Ellen DeGeneres wasn’t beating around the bush on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday, May 9, when she asked her guest Nick Jonas about his love life — and his fling Kate Hudson.
The conversation kicked off with the revelation that Jonas, 23, is now living with his big brother Joe. The two recently moved in together to a place in Sherman Oaks, California, which the “Jealous” hitmaker described as “very sophisticated, very adult.”
DeGeneres then shared a photo of the debonair star on the red carpet of the 2016 Met Gala, which he attended solo last Monday, May 2. “It’s still really frightening. I don’t want to be that guy that stumbles up the stairs and looks like a real … idiot,” he joked of the experience. “There’s bulbs flashing. There’s Beyonce. And then, there’s Beyonce. It’s very exciting.”
The “Close” singer attended the star-studded black-tie soiree by himself — which prompted cheers from DeGeneres’ female audience — but he was joined inside the cozy space of the Metropolitan Museum of Art by his former fling Hudson.
“Look, people cheering your loneliness,” DeGeneres noted. “That’s great. You’re really single right now.”
“I really am,” Jonas replied. “Yeah, I am. You don’t believe me!”
“So how is Kate Hudson doing, she’s good?” DeGeneres asked her guest.
Smirking, Jonas smoothly replied: “She’s great. We had a group dinner the night before the Met Gala. Lots of people, and she was there and I was there. But it was a group.”
DeGeneres has also previously grilled Hudson, 37, about her dating life after Us Weekly first reported the news about their steamy hookup in 2015.
Luckily, Jonas had it easy on Ellen on Monday. The former Disney star was memorably asked in an interview with Complex this past February what sex was like with Hudson.
“Kate’s incredible. We had an unbelievable connection as two humans who just admire things about each other, and see something in each other that’s beautiful,” Jonas replied at the time. “Out of my best effort to respect her and her privacy, I’m not going to say if we had sex or not. But we did have a beautiful connection. Even now I have so much admiration and respect. She’s amazing.”
