Ashley Graham Calls Out Amy Schumer: You Thrive on Being Curvy but Don’t Want to Be Grouped With Us

Curvy and proud! Ashley Graham covers the August 2016 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine in a blue bodysuit — and calls out Amy Schumer.

Graham, 28, weighed in on Schumer’s feud with Glamour after her name appeared on the magazine’s “Chic at Any Size” issue. (Graham appeared on the cover of the special-edition mag.) Schumer took issue with being grouped together with Graham and Melissa McCarthy — a point the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model has mixed feelings about.

“I can see both sides, but Amy talks about being a big girl in the industry,” Graham told Cosmo. “You thrive on being a big girl, but when you’re grouped in with us, you’re not happy about it? That, to me, felt like a double standard.”

However, Graham confessed that she herself doesn’t love body labels. “Just because I’m not calling myself plus-size doesn’t mean I’m not representing a woman who is … I’m giving curvy women a seat at a table that we’ve never been invited to before — a table with high-end fashion people who have never considered us beautiful,” she said.

Making the most of her enviable shape, the Lane Bryant ambassador posed in a velvet-accented Ashley Stewart one-piece for the cover shot. Playing up her bombshell persona, she also rocked tousled curls, a retro-inspired cat eye and a scarlet statement lip. Inside the issue, there are more shots of Graham in sizzling lingerie, including a matching set in a rose print.
