And away they go! Big Brother alum Dan Gheesling and his wife, Chelsea Gheesling, took their newborn son home from the hospital Tuesday, July 5, two days after Chelsea gave birth.
Dan, widely regarded as one of the best players ever to compete on the CBS series, tweeted a picture of his family in the car. In the shot, he sits in the driver’s seat while his wife takes the backseat next to their brand new baby boy.
“Thank you for all the support & love for Desmond. He’s coming home to meet Frank & settle into House Gheesling,” the proud new dad, 32, captioned the photo.
The happy parents welcomed their little one July 3. One day prior to Desmond’s birth, Dan tweeted, “Here we go – @cgheesling and I are at the hospital. Excited for our first baby sometime (hopefully) today!”
He announced their happy news the next morning. “Welcome to the world Desmond Daniel Gheesling,” he wrote. “Your mom and I love you so much.”
Dan, who won Big Brother 10 and was the runner-up on Big Brother 14, married Chelsea in 2011. On his website at the time, he called it the best day of his life.
“I’m not that emotional of a guy and most people think that the groom will cry when he first sees the bride coming down the aisle, but I didn’t,” he wrote. “I didn’t even make it that far! When I came out into the church for the first time and saw both of our families and all of our friends in one room, it was very overwhelming.”
“Most people say that your wedding goes by in the blink of an eye,” he continued, “but I disagree. We were able to take the entire day in just by simply being with each other and enjoying that everyone was having a great time.”
