Love and laughter. Comedian Sarah Colonna married her longtime love, Seattle Seahawks punter Jon Ryan, in a beautiful beachside wedding at the Esperanza resort in Los Cabos, Mexico, on Saturday, July 9.
The pair, who met in early 2014, said “I do” before family and friends in a ceremony officiated by Colonna’s fellow Chelsea Lately regular, Ross Matthews.
“A couple of years ago Jon Ryan tweeted me after asking @helloross to put in a word,” Colonna tweeted prior to their big day. “And tonight he’s officiating our wedding ceremony. NBD.”
Colonna, 41, stunned in a sleeveless lace Michal Medina gown, and Ryan, 34, looked dapper in a grey Eleve suit with black trim.
Matthews introduced Ryan and Colonna after the athlete asked Matthews to “put in a good word” to Colonna, according to The Seattle Times. The two began texting shortly afterward. Colonna told The Seattle Times earlier this year that the night the Seahawks won the Super Bowl, Ryan was texting her “nonstop.”
“That’s when I was like, ‘He’s genuinely interested in me,’” she said. “Because if there was any night he could do whatever he wants, it’s the night of a Super Bowl that he wins, and he’s really just wanting to talk to me.”
Colonna is best known for her role as a regular roundtable commentator for Chelsea Lately, and has published two books, Life As I Blow It: Tales of Love, Life & Sex … Not Necessarily in That Order and Has Anyone Seen My Pants? Ryan has played with the Seahawks since 2008. He previously kicked off his professional career as a player with the Green Bay Packers.
The pair announced their engagement last fall.
