Kim Kardashian, Kanye West Fully Expect Taylor Swift to Sue, Are ‘Sick of Her Good Girl Act,’ Source Says

See ya in kourt. Kim Kardashian is fully prepared for Taylor Swift to sue her and her husband, Kanye West, a source tells Us Weekly. According to the insider, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star was well aware of what she was doing prior to releasing Swift and West’s phone call on Snapchat on Sunday, July 17.

Indeed, the social media maven opted to release the audio via Snapchat and not on the family’s E! network show, KUWTK, to avoid the network getting in trouble.

“They didn’t air it on the show because it would have required Taylor to sign a release for the usage and they didn’t want it to affect the entire network,” a Kardashian source tells Us. “Taylor will sue Kanye personally.”

Not only do Kardashian and West not care about an impending lawsuit, they also won’t lose sleep if they end up losing.

“Kim and Kanye consulted with their lawyers and still went ahead with releasing it,” the insider tells Us. “They are not worried. They are sick of Taylor’s manipulations and her good girl act. They just wanted to expose her as a fake and will let the lawyers deal with legal stuff.”

Speaking of the “legal stuff,” criminal defense attorney Paul J. Cambria confirmed to Us Weekly that yes, Kimye could face criminal charges for recording the phone call unbeknownst to Swift. In fact, they didn’t even have to release the audio for Swift to be able to sue.

Cambria explained that California has a “two consent rule” meaning that both parties involved in a conversation must give consent to be recorded as long as one of the parties is in California. “If you violate it, it’s a felony,” the lawyer told Us. “The mere act of recording it is the commission of the crime,” Cambria said. “You don’t have to publish it. The mere act of recording it is the crime here.”

As for who exactly recorded the now infamous call is still unclear, but Cambria said that person is “the most at fault here and will most likely be the one charged.” Their punishment is also up to the court.

“If [authorities] find that there was a violation, and there is a conviction, then it will be all up to the judge to decide what the penalty is,” Cambria explained. “Fines and jail time are an option and could be for both Kanye and Kim.”

That said, the power couple seemingly don’t give AF. “They are fully prepared for Taylor to sue,” the Kardashian source concludes. “They weighed their options and decided they didn’t care.”

Swift has yet to file a lawsuit, but posted a statement on Instagram on Sunday night claiming she was unaware that she was being recorded and accused Kimye of “character assassination.”
