Keeping things light. Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth enjoyed a cozy dinner date at Nobu Malibu on Friday, July 15, and were all smiles as they made obscene gestures while leaving the restaurant.
The pair, who largely have kept mum about their relationship, looked positively gleeful as they raised their middle fingers at waiting photographers while linking arms.
Cyrus, 23, kept things colorful for the couple’s night out in a bright blue patterned shirt, ripped jeans and a tiny bear-shape purse slung across her chest. Hemsworth, 26, dressed casually for the outing as well, in a gray T-shirt, navy blue hoodie and jeans.
As Us Weekly previously reported, the off-again, on-again couple rekindled their romance earlier this year. (The pair previously called off their engagement in 2013 after meeting on the set of the 2010 film The Last Song.)
In an interview with GQ Australia’s June/July issue, the Australian actor explained that in hindsight, both of them benefited from that break in the relationship.
“Of course it was hard, man,” he told the magazine. “But at the time we were going in different directions and it’s just what needed to happen. We were both superyoung and it was a good decision at the time — we both needed that.”
In the months since their reunion, Cyrus has occasionally stepped out with a diamond ring on her left hand, and sources tell Us Weekly that a wedding is imminent.
“They’re getting married on the beach,” a source told Us, adding that “their parents are doing most of the work. It’s been easy!” According to the insider, the pair are planning to tie the knot in Hemsworth’s native Australia.
Cyrus’ father, country star Billy Ray Cyrus, played coy when asked about their impending nuptials, though he did tell Us that “they’re really happy together now.”
