‘Pretty Little Liars’ Star Troian Bellisario Clarifies Her Taylor Swift ‘False Feminism’ Comment

She doesn’t want any bad blood. Troian Bellisario clarified comments that she made about Taylor Swift in a series of tweets on Friday, July 29.

The Pretty Little Liars actress, 30, was asked if she’s Team Taylor or Team Kim Kardashian during a recent interview with Cosmopolitan magazine. “Oh, god, I have such an aversion to the Kardashians because I literally don’t understand people’s obsession with them and I don’t want to accept them as our closest thing to a royal family, so I guess I would be Team Taylor Swift?” she replied. “However, I’m so appalled by what I consider to be her false feminism. It seems like she’s this person who’s like, ‘Sisterhood!’ and then she does nothing but tear down the women who were once her friends.”

Swift, 26, and Kardashian, 35, went from friends to frenemies earlier this month. On July 18, the mom of two posted a phone conversation that her husband, Kanye West, had with Swift about his song “Famous,” which calls the pop star a “bitch.” The “Blank Space” singer has denied that she ever gave him permission to use the lyric.

Bellisario spoke out about her remarks via Twitter on Friday. “For goodness sake what I said about her was that I truly had no opinion on whatever matter was most recently going on with her,” she wrote. “Please leave me out of noise like this. I basically said I would like to have no opinion on the topic. I’ve never even met her.”

She added: “I asked to not be involved in choosing sides because, right, I still don’t care.”

Bellisario’s Cosmopolitan story was about much more than just the “Wildest Dreams” singer. She opened up about her support for Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders and what fans can expect next on her popular Freeform series.

“Worst part is, the rest of the interview was lovely,” Bellisario added on Twitter Friday. “I enjoyed talking about the DNC and why this election matters.”
