Michelle Obama delivered a powerful speech during the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia on Monday, July 25. While endorsing presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, the first lady reflected on waking up in the White House for the past eight years.

“I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves, and I watch my two black daughters playing with their dogs on the White House lawn,” Obama said during her speech at the Wells Fargo Center. “Because of Hillary, my daughters now take for granted that a woman can be president of the United States.” (The first lady previously made similar remarks about the White House being built by slaves during her June 2016 commencement speech at City College in New York.)

“I’m with her,” Obama then stated, before complimenting Clinton, 68, on having the “guts and grace to keep coming back to put those cracks in the glass ceiling.”

The lawyer also took a shot at Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and his campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”

“Don’t let someone tell you this country isn’t great — that we need to make it great again,” Obama told the crowd without directly naming Trump. “Because, right now, this country is the greatest country on Earth.”

“When you have the nuclear codes at your fingertips and military at your command, you can’t make snap decisions,” Obama also said during her speech, alluding to the controversial businessman. “You can’t have thin skin or a tendency to lash out. You need to be steady and well-informed. I want a president with a record of public service, someone whose life work shows our children we don’t chase fame and fortune for ourselves.”

Her husband, president Barack Obama, praised her after her speech.

“Incredible speech by a incredible woman,” the president tweeted. “Couldn’t be more proud & our country has been blessed to have her as FLOTUS. I love you, Michelle.”
