Joe Jonas Has Picked Up Fans at His Concerts — But Sometimes ‘It Bites You in the Ass’

A fangirl’s dream! Joe Jonas revealed that he’s picked up fans at his own concerts but things don’t always go smoothly.

During his appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Thursday, July 28, Andy Cohen asked, “Have you ever picked someone out in the audience when you’re doing a concert and said to one of your guys, ‘Hey, get that girl and bring her back’?”

“Yeah, I mean, I’ve invited them,” the “Cake by the Ocean” crooner, 26, said. “Maybe not like … well, whatever you want to think.”

However, sometimes he’d summon them backstage only to find out the girls liked his brothers better! “But it doesn’t always work out if you’re like, ‘Hey, why don’t you get that girl’s number for me?’ and then they’re more of a Nick or Kevin fan,” he said. “That’s never fun. Then it bites you in the ass.”

The “Toothbrush” singer also said he’s “absolutely” fallen in love with girls that he’s met on set of his music videos. “When we first started with my brothers, we would do these videos, and we’d get these video girls for the video and you’re like, ‘Oh my god, oh my god.’ Hot girls for the first time in front of us,” he said. “I’ve gone on dates with them before.”

While he didn’t call out any names, he may have been referring to Camilla Belle. The DNCE frontman met the model on set of the Jonas Brothers’ “Lovebug” music video in September 2008, and the pair dated for several months.

The one person he won’t be getting close to at his own concert: Britney Spears. Jonas told Cohen that when he toured with the pop superstar during the European leg of her 2011 Femme Fatale Tour, Spears’ entourage informed him that he needed to stay “a comfortable distance” away from her.

“It’s funny because you’re not supposed to technically get too close to Britney,” he revealed. “Even though you are on tour with her, they still ask you to keep a comfortable distance.”

The former JoBro ignored the warning on the final day and went in for a hug. “I just went in there and gave her the biggest hug. She was very loving and had fun with it,” Jonas said.
