A Waiter at Olive Garden Did Something Unexpected for an Overwhelmed Mom

New moms know the drill: As soon as you sit down to eat, your little one needs to be fed. And that is exactly what happened when Dallas French ventured out to Olive Garden with her 4-month-old daughter, Ellee, on July 21 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

French shared on Facebook that she had just returned from an exhausting visit to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, where Ellee underwent a series of tests. Drained from their stressful morning, French was struggling to feed her “starving” baby — and accidentally spilled Ellee’s bottle all over the floor. That’s when their waiter, Robert Davis, swooped in so that French could enjoy her salad and breadsticks.

“[He] said, ‘Here let me feed her and you eat,’” French wrote in her post that has since gone viral. “He fed her, I ate my salad and breadsticks and that floor got cleaned up after we left because he just understood! He didn’t even know what we had went through that day and showed us love and understanding.”

The 36-year-old mama added that she appreciated that Davis didn’t seem “irritated” that she had made a mess or that Ellee was screaming.

The touching post — which features a photo of Davis feeding Ellee her bottle — has received 175,000 likes, nearly 36,000 shares and more than 2,000 comments.

French tells Us Weekly that Ellee — who had a UTI —  was especially fussy after three hours of tests but calmed down as Davis came to the rescue. “She was just smitten and cooing at him,” says French. “It lightened our whole mood that day, with everything we had been through.”

When French reunited with Davis a few days later for an interview with a local news channel, she greeted him with a big hug.

“People have been mailing him tips from all over!” French tells Us. “With all the freakin’ hate right now, it was nice to spread something good on my Facebook page.”
