According to CNN, she will endorse presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton while discussing the role the president plays in shaping the lives of American children. The Washington Post confirms that Obama is expected to endorse the former secretary of state, 68, and that Obama will state she believes Clinton has the temperament and character to be president.

Obama previously made headlines during the Republican National Convention last week after Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s wife, Melania Trump, reportedly plagiarized the first lady’s 2008 DNC speech.

Trump Organization staff writer Meredith McIver, who helped Melania write the speech, took responsibility for the blunder, but wasn’t fired by the business mogul. While speaking with ABC News last Wednesday, Trump explained McIver simply “made a mistake.”

“I think it was terrific how she came forward and just said, 'Look, it was a mistake that I made,'" the GOP presidential nominee, 70, told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos. "And she thought that it was very unfair to Melania, although, interestingly the press treated Melania very well because they didn't think that it was her."

Obama’s speech on Monday will follow fellow Clinton supporters, including celebs Demi Lovato and Eva Longoria. President Barack Obama is scheduled to speak at the convention later this week. (See the list of scheduled speakers here.)
