I mean, who doesn’t?! Simone Biles has a life-size cutout of her celebrity crush Zac Efron in her Spring, Texas, childhood bedroom. The Olympic gold medalist, 19, gave NBC a tour of her room, which featured trophies, lots of purple and a cardboard clone of the Neighbors actor.
“Sometimes I used to kiss him on the cheek,” Biles told NBC’s Stephanie Gosk while standing in her girly room. “It’s a little strange.” The sports star told Us exclusively during her 25 Things You Don’t Know About Me interview that she has “such a crush” on Efron.
Efron reciprocated Biles’ love on Tuesday, August 9, after she and her teammates earned the gold medal during the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics team all-around competition.
“So phenomenal a skill’s named after her. Congrats on sticking the Biles and qualifying for the finals @Simone_Biles!” the High School Musical alum tweeted at the athlete.
The hunk also tweeted at Biles before the Olympic trials, after Ellen DeGeneres gifted the gymnast with a leotard with Efron’s face on it.
“Thanks for the heads up @TheEllenShow! 😊 Good luck at the Olympic trials @Simone_Biles! #Rio2016,” the former Disney star tweeted in July, to which Biles responded: “@ZacEfron @TheEllenShow OH MY GOSH I THINK I AM GOING TO PASS OUT OH MY GOSH CRYING! THANK YOU 😊.”
The Final Five team member also personally invited Efron to the Summer Games during an appearance on the Today show, after host Hoda Kotb encouraged her to extend an invite.
“OK, Zac Efron, I think we need you here, at the team finals, because we’ll all get to be there and we need you to come watch,” the adorable teen told the camera.
