Cheers to the memories! Melanie Griffith proved that she's still friendly with her ex-husband Antonio Banderas when she wished him a happy birthday on Wednesday, August 10.
"Happy Birthday to my ruggedly handsome ex husband @antoniobanderasoficial," she captioned an Instagram photo of the pair. "I will always love you."
In the throwback pic, Griffith, 59, and the Machete Kills actor, 56, are goofing around on the red carpet at Univision's 8th annual "Premios Juventud" awards in Miami, Florida, in 2011.
As previously reported, Griffith filed for divorce from Banderas in June 2014 after nearly 20 years of marriage. (She later lasered off her famous heart tattoo that featured his name.) The stars, who are parents of daughter Stella, 19, finalized the divorce in December 2015.
According to TMZ, Griffith and Banderas sold their L.A. estate and split the money. Additionally, they divided art pieces and Banderas will have to pay $65,000 a month to Griffith in spousal support.
Back in February, Griffith gave advice about relationships at the premiere of How to Be Single in NYC.
"Don't get married! There is no need," she told reporters at the time. "You don't need to get married to have a child anymore. It's not like there's a stigma on a child, and getting married, you either go through the whole bulls–t of a prenuptial, or if you want to get divorced and you don't have a prenuptial, then you wish you had a prenuptial."
The Working Girl actress was previously married to Don Johnson and actor-producer Steven Bauer. Griffith and Johnson, who are parents of actress Dakota Johnson, briefly married and split in 1976. They later reconciled and remarried in 1989 before divorcing again in 1996. Griffith and Bauer share son Alexander. Banderas was previously married to actress Ana Leza from 1987 to 1996.
