What does Dad think? Jinger Duggar reveals her stunned reaction to Jeremy Vuolo asking her father for permission to court in Jill & Jessa: Counting On‘s season 2 premiere on Tuesday, August 23, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek.
The TLC series’ preview clip shows Jinger, 22, explaining to the camera that she had no idea the former soccer pro, 28, planned to pull Jim Bob Duggar aside to announce his intentions.
“So Jeremy approached my dad and asked if he could get to know me,” explains Jinger, Michelle and Jim Bob’s sixth oldest of 19 children. “My dad told me, ‘Yeah, Jeremy asked about you — what do you think about this guy?’ And I was like, ‘Whoa!’ I was completely shocked and just blown away.'”
Jinger also gushes about her man’s path in life: “Jeremy’s background is really neat — he gave up professional soccer to become a pastor. I first noticed Jeremy on a mission trip together in Central America, and I just saw his heart, and I was like, ‘Wow, he’s an amazing guy.’ And so that’s kind of where I really remember connecting with him.”
Meanwhile, Jinger’s older sister Jessa tells the camera that she and husband Ben Seewald had both gotten a sense of a mutual attraction between the couple. (Jessa and Ben introduced the happy pair in May 2015.)
“I feel like Ben may have known of Jeremy’s interest in Jinger somewhat,” Jessa says. “I think I saw it from Jinger’s side beforehand, though, because I would watch them talk and interact, and I thought, ‘Huh, I wonder if she kind of likes him.'”
Jinger and Jeremy, who got engaged on a New York City rooftop on July 25, are on the cover of Us Weekly‘s latest issue, on newsstands now.
