Celine Dion released a new song called “Recovering” on Thursday, September 8, in honor of her late husband, Rene Angelil. The iconic singer revealed in July that Pink wrote the emotional track for her.

As previously reported, Angelil died at the age of 73 in January after a long battle with throat cancer. The couple married in 1994 and shared sons Rene Charles, 15, and 5-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy.

Dion, 48, appears to be accompanied only by a piano in the ballad. “I am recovering / The faith of a child / The bottom of heart / I was reckless and wild / I am recovering,” she sings. “One step at a time / Shake off the devil / Take back my piece of mind.”

She continues: “Hold me as I fall apart / Baby, here in the dark / Because the old me run just as far as I could from my heart / But I’m going back to the start.”

“Recovering” will appear on Dion’s upcoming album, Encore un soir. The new record will be her first since 2013’s Loved Me Back to Life.

Back in July, Dion opened up about working with Pink in her time of mourning. “She is phenomenal. I love her for her talent, for her strength, for her focus, the person she is,” she told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “At the [Billboard Music Awards] when I saw her, I said, ‘For you to take the time to really write a song, to give me a tool, a piece of luggage to help me to move forward to walk to keep going…”

Pink has just as much respect for Dion. “She is like a magic lightbulb, walking around emanating light into the world … I wanted to hear Celine’s soul,” the “Just Like Fire” singer, 37, told Entertainment Weekly that same month. “She is just simply amazing, and getting to write a song for her is one of the biggest honors of my life.”
