“The only reason I am taking her to court is because I want more time with my kids, which I’ve been getting, but it needs to be court-documented,” Buonfiglio tells Us.

The couple’s divorce was finalized in June 2015. Since then, Buonfiglio has had partial custody, getting the kids every other weekend. Now he wants to do everything 50/50.

“I’ve paid her way long enough — she makes plenty to support herself. I just want her to pay her way, I pay my way, and we co-parent,” he explains.

He adds about the media having reported about his custody request, “Last thing I meant was to cause any harm [with media attention], but seeing as these documents are public record, I should have realized someone would get a hold of them.”

Sources tell Us that the two are currently only speaking via email until they meet in court.

For her part, Stanton, 26, is happily engaged to Murray, 32, with viewers watching his romantic proposal during the Paradise finale that aired September 6. The pair are living together in Orange County, California, giving the Bachelorette season 10 runner-up plenty of time to bond with her children.

The pair addressed the custody situation when speaking to Us Weekly exclusively on Thursday, September 15, at a Smash Global IV Pro MMA event. “Her ex gets the kids once every couple of weeks, so those times we have more time to just go out to dinner,” Murray told Us. Stanton added, “We try to take advantage of that alone time to do something together — get dinner or something.”
