Stop right now. Victoria Beckham revealed during a Monday, September 12, appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers that her kids have seen her slay as “Posh Spice” in 1997’s Spice World.
While some children might be embarrassed to watch their mom parade around in Posh’s famous “little Gucci” dresses, Beckham, 42, told host Seth Meyers that Brooklyn, 17, Romeo, 14, Cruz, 11, and Harper, 5 — who she shares with husband David Beckham — are all quite proud of her former career as a pop star.
“They know the Spice Girls. They know that mommy wore the heels and did the pout and point. They’re proud!” the “Wannabe” singer said. “You know, we’ve watched the movie together, and when I was on tour with the Spice Girls [in 2007], I took the children with me. So they were with us, yeah.”
Victoria — who, along with Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm, is not participating in the Spice Girls upcoming 20th anniversary reunion — told the SNL alum that her youngest son, Cruz, takes after her musically.
“He’s so musical. And I didn’t even realize that he could sing,” she said. “He’s always the one that plays football and he was just sitting in the back of the car one day and he was singing and I was like, ‘Wow, you can really sing.’”
Earlier this summer, David posted an Instagram video of Cruz performing “Cups” from Pitch Perfect. The clip immediately went viral and many likened Cruz’s talent to Justin Bieber’s. “And then he picked up his cups and he went. I mean, we are like a traveling circus, our family,” Victoria joked. “We sing, we dance, we do football, we do fashion!”
When it comes to Harper, the mother of four also gushed over her little girl’s interests.
“It was so great to have a girl. And the boys are so great with her and David’s such a great dad and it’s so cute to see him with a little girl,” she explained. “You know, she’s so great and she’s a little tomboy playing in the garden with her brothers playing football, and David as well, but she’s also very girlie. So she loves to play with makeup.”
Victoria added: “She has been able to run in a pair of high heels for a long time. I’m so proud. So proud!”
