Best to stay focused on the present? Married at First Sight‘s Lillian Vilchez breaks down in tears over husband Tom Wilson‘s reluctance to discuss their future on the Tuesday, September 27, episode, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek.
The FYI series’ preview clip shows the couple talking to Pastor Calvin Roberson about the bumps they’ve been facing. The pair had instant chemistry but have experienced tension of late, particularly after Wilson made it clear in a recent episode that he did not want to talk about the prospect of them having kids.
“For me, my mindset is, we’ve got to start from the ground up, and we’ve got to create a base, and talking about the future, I feel, is just wasted time because we can be talking about issues right now,” Wilson tells his wife and Roberson in the clip.
Vilchez tearfully replies, “I’m not saying, ‘Oh, my God — this is what has to happen five years from now,’ because life doesn’t work like that.”
“My dad took care of us until I left the nest, but he ultimately ended up leaving,” she continues. “So you might take it like, ‘I can leave.’ I think about it, like, what if you decide to leave, especially because you don’t even want to have these long-term conversations?”
A previously released clip from the September 27 episode shows Nick Pendergrast saying he wants a “Get Out of Jail Free card” to end his marriage to Sonia Granados.
