Better to be seen and not heard? Nick Pendergrast clams up when Sonia Granados‘ dad grills him on Married at First Sight‘s Tuesday, October 11, episode, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek.
The FYI relationship series’ preview clip shows Pendergrast tidying up as he prepares for his wife’s father to see his place for the first time. The newlyweds have had their share of bumps lately; Granados moved out of the home in a recent episode after an intense spat, although the couple have been trying to patch things up.
“I’m scared — I really don’t know why,” Pendergrast tells the camera. “Don’t know what to expect. This could be a bad or good moment. I want to take a little more initiative to clean up and make it look nice. First impressions usually last.”
“I am a little bit nervous about the whole situation,” the vacation-rental manager, 32, continues. “Don’t really know what he knows — I’m sure he knows a lot, since they’re pretty close. … But it could go anywhere, this conversation. I have no idea what I’ll tell her father.”
Sonia’s dad doesn’t waste any time before hitting his son-in-law with the big questions: “When you started this marriage, what was your expectation? Like the church says, ‘forever.’ That’s [Sonia’s expectation]. Do you come with the same expectations, married forever? Or what?”
