Kim’s on the mend. Chrissy Teigen offered an update on how her close friend Kim Kardashian is doing after the Paris robbery and said the incident has forced her to reevaluate her own social media strategy.

“We’ve been texting,” the supermodel, 30, told Vanity Fair of the Selfish author. “She’s doing great now. It was definitely a traumatizing, horrible, horrible thing. Honestly I couldn’t even imagine it happening to me. I don’t even know how I would have reacted. I don’t think anyone would know how they would have reacted to a situation like that. It’s definitely terrifying. And we’re all looking at social now, like, ‘Crap, maybe we got to chill out a bit.’”

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 35, has been laying low since five thieves broke into her Paris apartment on October 3. The armed men gagged and bound her and stole an estimated $10 million in jewelry, including her new, upgraded engagement ring from husband Kanye West. Kardashian’s assistant announced on Monday, October 17, that the reality star is taking a break from social media, including her app.

Teigen, who is also known for her hilarious and candid tweets, said she’s going to start cutting down on what she’s sharing with the world. “It’s hard for me because I’m so used to being an open book,” she said. "It was so fun to be able to do that. Everybody after [Kim’s robbery] has definitely simmered down.”

“You’re giving too much information now,” she continued. “That’s one thing, you do love Snapchat, but then it’s like, they see absolutely everything — where your closet is in the house.”

The Cravings cookbook author is even toning down her anti–Donald Trump jokes. “I’m going to stop joking about it. Maybe in a couple of days,” she said. “I have to get all the rest of the jokes out. It is a serious thing. It’s buckle-down time. I think I’m getting a little bit over the memes. This stuff is becoming not so funny now. He’s just so completely vile. It’s becoming real. He’s on the ballot."

The Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, who is married to John Legend, recently made her Twitter account private — and it’s been blissfully peaceful since. “I’m in heaven right now, ” Teigen told Vanity Fair. “The grass is green. I feel like a new person. You honestly forget that the negativity exists once you block it out. … The people that like you don’t tend to be horrible to you. I swear, [going private] has changed my mood, my life. It’s really, really nice.”
