Teresa Giudice on Why She Won’t Say the Word ‘Criminal’: ‘I Don’t Consider Myself That’

She has a different definition. The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice opened up about why she won’t call herself a criminal during a Sunday, October 2, appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

Though the Bravo star, 44, was federally indicted for fraud and completed 11 months of a 15-month prison sentence at Connecticut’s Danbury Federal Correctional Institution last December, she still doesn’t think of herself as a criminal.

“I just don’t like — I don’t consider myself that …” she told show host Andy Cohen. “I don’t even want to say that word.”

As viewers witnessed on Sunday night’s episode of RHONJ, the Turning the Tables author referred to the term criminal as “the c-word” during a phone call with husband Joe Giudice.

Now that Tre is out of the slammer, her spouse — with whom she shares four daughters — is serving a 41-month prison sentence for fraud at New Jersey’s Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution. His stint began in March, three months after Teresa was released. (He’s already had five months taken off his time behind bars.)

During her WWHL interview, the Fabellini founder told Cohen, 48, that her imprisoned hubby has been watching RHONJ to help ease the pain of missing his wife while he’s away. “He never watched it at home and now he’s watching it there,” she said.

Back in June, Teresa told Entertainment Tonight that she and Joe do their best to keep the romance alive during their time apart by sending each other naughty emails.

“I’m not going to say what the emails say,” the mom of four teased. “He’s doing good. You know, being positive, and we’re just both taking one day at a time.”

She added: “We’re married 16 years and I just can’t wait for him to get home. I think it’s just going to spice up our marriage even more. Yeah, when I came home, it’s like falling in love all over again.”

The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs on Bravo Sundays at 8 p.m. ET.
