Thrown off! Jessa Duggar witnesses husband Ben Seewald‘s bumpy day at a football camp for underprivileged kids in Counting On‘s Tuesday, September 27, episode, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek.
The TLC unscripted series’ preview clip shows the happy couple on the playing field together. Seewald, 21, tries his hand at quarterback in an effort to lead his youth team to the trophy, but unfortunately, one of his passes gets picked off by a boy on the other squad.
“I actually threw an interception, so that was a little counterproductive there,” Seewald says to the camera. “I don’t know — I’m a little rusty, but at the same time, it was a good play by the kid that caught it.”
Duggar, 23, remains his No. 1 fan and tells the camera as the game unfolds, “Ben likes to play quarterback, and so that’s his favorite position. It’s fun to see him in his element — he’s having a good time.”
At the end of the final match, Seewald’s team loses in the closing seconds. “In the final standings of the flag football tournament, my team finished [in] second place,” he explains. “It was close — it was hard-fought. And so anyways, I’m just proud of both teams — everybody did a good job and gave maximum effort, and it was really competitive.”
Last week’s episode featured the couple taking 10-month-old son Spurgeon to a music store, where the youngster had a chance to demonstrate his virtuosity on piano.
