Albie tells Us about the pregnancy news, “I couldn’t get the smile off my face for like two or three days. I’m going to spoil the you-know-what out of my nephew or niece!”

The Bravo star, 30, also reveals the challenges that his sister has faced since learning that she and husband Vito Scalia are expecting: “I think it’s natural to undergo several different emotions when you’re changing as a person. Your identity’s changing, your evolution as a human being is changing. So I think for her, it’s an adjustment period of everything at once. But she’s handling it awesomely.”

After tying the knot in 2015, Lauren and Vito spent their first year of marriage living with her parents, former Real Housewives of New Jersey star Caroline Manzo and Brownstone owner Albert “Al” Manzo. However, the happy couple recently purchased a place of their own, which Albie describes as being a perfect fit.

Every member of the close-knit Manzo clan has contributed to the move-in process, Albie explains. “I think our connection [as a family] is really what makes places go from being a house to being a home,” he says. “There’s a lot of love there already.”

Other than exploring Lauren and Vito’s new chapter in their lives together, season 3 of Manzo’d With Children will also delve into the changes in Albie’s life.

After officially splitting from Brittany Parks, a woman who his family wasn’t exactly fond of, Albie focused on pursuing his personal aspirations. Alluding to his ex, the restaurant owner tells Us, “I had to learn that living for yourself and doing things that you love to do, regardless of what other people think and no matter who it is, is OK.”

When it comes to love, Albie feels that most people want to jump right in and find someone who is the complete package. However, the rational romantic ideally wants “to start at zero with somebody,” and “build something together.”

Watch the exclusive clip from the upcoming episode of Manzo’d With Children to see Albie open up to his father about the fact that Al wasn’t always around as the kids were growing up. (The scene is in the video above.)

Albie tells Us more about the rocky relationship he had with his dad, how they’ve developed the loving relationship that they have today and whether fatherhood is in the cards for him.

Us Weekly: How has growing up with a dad who wasn’t around very much shaped the kind of person you are today?

Albie Manzo: I think that, out of the three of us, you know, I was probably impacted by it the most because I’m the oldest. And I think that, in the beginning, I could remember so many days where I would call my dad at work and be like, “Hey, where are you? Why aren’t we going to the arcade?” Because it just didn’t make any sense. But as you get older, you really come to respect the hard work and sacrifices that he made to allow us to live a life that he didn’t get to live.

Us: So you’re happy with the relationship you and your dad have today?

AM: Yeah. But growing up, it was definitely a little bit more confusing for me. You woke up and he was asleep, and by the time you got home, he was gone. So you only really saw him that one time a week, and one thing I’ll say about my dad was the time he had to be a father, he was 100 percent a father. There was no sitting back watching a football game while the kids went and played in the backyard without him. That was never part of his DNA. He was — 100 percent of his free time was given to us. It’s really an incredible relationship now and we’re very, very close, and it’s fun for me.

Us: You’re currently on the market. Describe your dream girl.

AM: I spent a lot of time in the gym, I spent a lot of time working on my career, and then getting myself happy, and now finally I’m at a place where I feel super confident with me, and I want to get out there and see if I could find somebody that’s going to make me super happy that I could spend the rest of my life with. Hunter percent. I’m all on in that. But like, as far as relationships go, I just think you’ve got to make each other better. That’s really what it comes down to for me. You’ve got to be on a team.

Us: Would you say that fatherhood is in your future?

AM: I think if there’s anything in the world I want the most right now, it’s probably to be settled down, to be super, super happy and have kids. I work from home, and a lot of people ask me why. Well a big reason for that is, I grew up in an environment where my dad wasn’t around. So if I could have a career that’s allowing for me at least being around my house, that’s a big win for me.

Manzo’d With Children airs on Bravo Sundays at 9 p.m. ET.
