Baby on board! Janet Jackson, who is pregnant with her first child, made a rare public appearance when she stepped out for a shopping trip in London on Tuesday, September 27.
The “Unbreakable” singer, 50, was spotted leaving baby-furniture store Back in Action, according to Entertainment Tonight, which has the exclusive photos of the outing. Jackson covered up her growing baby bump in a black sweater, and paired it with sweatpants and sneakers. She finished the look with a scarf and headband.
An onlooker told ET that the mom-to-be arrived with her bodyguard, assistant and two friends. The store shut down for Jackson’s private 45-minute visit, and the singer sat at a table with the staff to go over their products. The Grammy winner also walked around the store and checked out one of the strollers, the eyewitness told the site.
Us Weekly confirmed in May that the iconic singer is expecting with her billionaire businessman husband, Wissam Al Mana. A few weeks prior to the exciting news, the superstar pushed back her Unbreakable World Tour to start a family. “We’re in the second leg of the tour and there actually has been a sudden change,” she said in a video in April. “My husband and I are planning our family, so I’m going to have to delay the tour.”
“Please, if you can, try and understand that it’s important that I do this now,” she continued. “I have to rest up, doctor’s orders!”
The entertainer has yet to publicly address her pregnancy, but her brother Jermaine Jackson previously told Us that he can’t believe his younger sister is having a baby. “I’m proud to be an uncle, and I can’t wait to see how this baby is going to look,” he said. “She’ll be a great mother, because she is very tough, very strict.”
