The final stretch! Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, James Franco, Julianne Moore, Martin Sheen, and Neil Patrick Harris have teamed up for a star-studded video to get out the vote one day ahead of the 2016 Election, which takes place on Tuesday, November 8.
The clip — titled “VOTE TOMORROW” and directed by vocal Hillary Clinton supporter Joss Whedon — begins with Downey Jr., 51, saying, “Tomorrow’s the big day. Who’s gonna get out there and vote?”
Johansson, 31, then chimes in, pressing viewers to make a plan to cast their ballots. “When are you going? Are you going before work?” she asks. “Are you going after? Do you have a plan? Do you have a ride?”
In a subsequent shot, the Her actress jokes that she will offer rides to anyone in need. “’Cause I can drive,” she quips. “Not well, but I can drive.”
“If you know someone who needs a ride or a kick in the ass, get ’em there,” Key, 45, says, while Franco, 38, adds a reminder that your job shouldn’t restrict you from sending in your vote: “Your employer can’t tell you you don’t have time.”
Adds 55-year-old Moore: “No one has the right to stop you from casting your vote.”
West Wing alum Sheen, 76, goes on to say that every person who turns out counts. “Elections aren’t decided on a majority,” he says. “They’re decided by the majority of those who show up and vote.”
Harris, 43, wants you to “show ’em how it’s done” by making your voice heard. Downey Jr. closes out the video with one simple request: “Just get out and vote.”
