Specifics about season 3 have yet to be revealed, but it will consist of 10 episodes detailing the death of the legendary designer, who was murdered on the steps of his Miami Beach mansion by serial killer Andrew Cunanan. After murdering the couture designer, Cunanan killed himself eight days later during a police raid.

American Crime Story: Versace/Cunanan will be based on the book Vulgar Favors, by Maureen Orth.

The season 3 order follows the previously announced season 2 of ACS, which is set to focus on Hurricane Katrina. Casting details have yet to be announced.

According to the The Hollywood Reporter, filming for American Crime Story: Katrina and Versace/Cunanan will begin early 2017.

Ryan Murphy’s anthology series first premiered last February with American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson. The series took home the Emmy for best limited series. The People v. O.J. Simpson won nine Emmys total, including actress Sarah Paulson’s first-ever Emmy for her role as Marcia Clarke.

“I’m begging them to let me do that,” Paulson told reporters during the Television Critics Association press tour in August of her desire to be cast in American Crime Story: Katrina. “Begging on my hands and knees.”

Creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Brad Simpson have yet to reveal who will star in the upcoming installment.

“You will have the famous people and you will also have the people who weren’t famous during Katrina,” Simpson previously told ET.
