Vicki Gunvalson Gushes About ‘Amazing’ New Boyfriend Steve Lodge

Upgrade! The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Vicki Gunvalson had nothing but nice things to say about her new boyfriend, Steve Lodge, during a Monday, October 10, appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

Asked by a viewer how she felt about her costars Shannon Beador and Tamra Judge “interrogating” Lodge on Monday night’s episode of the hit reality show, Gunvalson, 54, responded: “It comes with the territory. I already pre-warned him, ‘The girls might interrogate you. Because I’ve had a past of picking bad people.’”

She added: “It was just, like, awkward for me because it was, like, date three!”

Gunvalson was previously involved with her infamous ex-beau Brooks Ayers prior to meeting Lodge. Her friends and her daughter, Briana Wolfsmith-Culberson, repeatedly butted heads with Ayers, as documented on Bravo. The drama came to a head when Ayers was accused of lying about having cancer. She and Gunvalson split in August 2015 after four years of dating. (To this day, Ayers maintains his cancer diagnosis.)

Despite the rocky start to her romance with Lodge, the reality star assured WWHL host Andy Cohen that she and the former police officer are still together and doing better than ever.

“He’s amazing,” she gushed. “He’s, like, amazing. Like God gave him [to me]. I think my [late] mom sent him down. He’s incredible. Yeah, he’s incredible. Like, my tank is full.”

As viewers saw on Monday’s dramatic installment of RHOC, Gunvalson’s costars gave her a hard time when, during a trip to Dublin, she walked into her hotel to find flowers sent to her by Lodge.

The ladies of Orange County shadily took note of how the politician signed the card with the word “love.” Gunvalson defended his sweet gesture and replied, “Why wouldn’t he love me? I’m a great catch.”

The More Than a Housewife author took to Instagram after the episode aired to elaborate on her appreciation for Lodge’s gift.

“Thank you@lodge4anaheim for my beautiful roses when I checked in,” she captioned a photo of herself holding a bouquet of red roses. “We had only known each other for two weeks then, so haters keep your comments to yourself. I love him and am committed to this man.”

Prior to that post, Gunvalson — who met Lodge at a charity auction event earlier this year — proudly Instagrammed a pic of her man looking sharp in a suit. “Don’t know about you, but I think this is one gorgeous man,” she wrote alongside the snap. “#howluckyami❤️ #lovehim #rhoc #wwhl#askandyoushallreceive.”
