After chatting about how much of a fan he is of the show, Fallon asked Bledel who were the top four characters — other than her own, Rory Gilmore — she liked best.

“I think Caesar (Aris Alvarado) is awesome,” she said about the cook at Luke’s diner. “He’s underrated, he’s amazing.”

She also revealed her adoration for Rory’s neighbor Babette Dell (Sally Struthers) and dance teacher Miss Patty (Liz Torres).

“They were on All in the Family together and every time they would come to set and sing show tunes, and it was such a raucous day on set every day they were there, so I have to appreciate them.”

Her fourth choice wasn’t so much of a shock, as Bledel admitted, fan favorite Kirk Gleason (Sean Gunn) was her final pick.

She also addressed the recent criticism of the promotional pictures for A Year in the Life in which she appeared alongside Lauren Graham, who plays her mom, Lorelai Gilmore, in the show.

“They are saying you don’t know how to hold things,” Fallon teased, as he held up a picture of her clutching a bunch of flowers at an odd angle.

The actress then grabbed a normal sized mug from the table and proved she was quite capable of holding it properly.

“I mean this is normal-sized so it’s no problem,” she smiled. “I got it.”
