Sherri Papini’s Husband Keith Tells ’20/20’ She Was Chained, Had Bag Placed Over Her Head

Sherri Papini’s husband, Keith Papini, is revealing more chilling details about his wife’s alleged abduction in an exclusive interview with ABC News’ 20/20, which will air Friday, December 2. As previously reported, the stay-at-home mom of two was allegedly kidnapped while out for a jog earlier this month in Redding, California, and after being missing for 22 days, was released by her captors on Thanksgiving.

In his first sit-down interview, Keith reveals that Sherri said she had been in a vehicle with her alleged captors who chained her right arm to something inside of the vehicle. Sherri previously described her captors as two Hispanic females with guns.

“She was bound … she had a metal chain around her waist,” Keith said in a clip of the interview published by ABC News. “She had a bag over her head … she was chained anytime she was in a vehicle.”

According to Keith, Sherri’s captors later stopped the vehicle and “cut something” to free the 34-year-old before pushing her out of the vehicle and driving away.

Keith previously revealed that his wife was bruised, had her hair cut off and weighed just 87 pounds when she was rescued by a motorist along a highway located 150 miles from her hometown. He and Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko also revealed that Sherri was “branded” by her captors.

“Obviously, a very sick person who may have wanted to not only cut [her hair] off to change her physical appearance, but also as to humiliate them, wear her down,” Bosenko described of the captors’ actions in an interview with Good Morning America.

Bosenko criticized Keith’s earlier statement to the media during a news conference Wednesday, November 30. “I think with some of the details he has provided could affect the integrity of the investigation,” Bosenko said, confirming the investigation is ongoing.
