Megyn Kelly ‘Trying to Figure Out’ If She’ll Stay at Fox News

Will she or won’t she? Megyn Kelly is still figuring out her next move amid reports that the Fox News anchor is considering other options once her contract is up in June 2017.

“I am trying to figure that out right now,” the 46-year-old journalist said in a new interview for PORTER Magazine. “I don’t have the answer for you.”

On Thursday, December 1, the Drudge Report speculated that CNN is looking to poach Kelly for its network as an anchor for either the 8 or 9 p.m. time slots. “[CNN President Jeff Zucker] is moving the Himalayan mountains to get her,” an insider told the site. “But they are tripped up on money. He simply can’t pay her the $20 million a year Fox has on the table.”

A source previously told Us that ABC was also in “serious talks” to bring her over to their network.

Kelly called her year “very tumultuous” in the interview, due in large part to her coverage of President-elect Donald Trump and her ongoing feud with the real estate mogul.

In March, Trump, 70, tweeted that “everybody should boycott the @megynkelly show. Never worth watching. Always a hit on Trump! She is sick, & the most overrated person on tv.” His outburst came hot on the heels of his decision not to attend a GOP debate in Salt Lake City that was set to air on Fox News. He had also previously sat out the Republican debate in Iowa because of his feud with Kelly, who was one of the moderators.

At the time, Fox News leapt to Kelly’s defense, calling Trump’s attack “vitriolic” and indicative of a “sick obsession with her” in a fiery statement.

Despite her beef with Trump, however, Kelly is quick to jump to his wife Melania’s defense.

“She’s been subjected to some really staunch feminism and I’ve been really offended on her behalf,” the anchor told PORTER Magazine. “The New York Times called her a trophy wife and a mannequin which is f–ked up and really offensive. Just because she’s gorgeous doesn’t mean you get to dismiss her. She speaks I think five languages. She’s a mother. She’s a supportive wife. She’s an entrepreneur. I don’t know how successful her businesses are, but she’s out there trying. Screw them for saying that.”

In reflecting on her time at the network, Kelly told the publication that she has a good working relationship with Fox News founder Rupert Murdoch, but was not sorry to see former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes go.

“I know that Rupert knows I am a hard worker and he knows I will get my job done and if I am not here till later in the evening, it is for a good reason,” she said, adding of Ailes, who stepped down from his position in July: “All I can say is I think it ended exactly as it should have.”
