Ryan Reynolds and Conan O’Brien Re-Create The Notebook’s Kiss, See How Blake Lively Reacted

Well, that was unexpected. Ryan Reynolds joked about the reasons why he was appearing on Conan on Wednesday, November 2, and they ranged from promoting a new line of prosciutto underwear to his starring role in the sequel to The Notebook.

"I'm going to list some things, and you guys are going to guess which one of these things I am actually here to promote," Reynolds, 40, said as he pulled a stack of cards out of his pocket.

He ran through the choices: "Reyns" organic ham briefs; his new documentary, Dolphins and How to Stop Them (he described the marine mammals as "the single greatest threat to our borders"); his new parenting book, 10 Easy Steps to Lower Your Child's Self-Esteem ("Who wants a cocky, know-it-all kid? Not this guy," he joked); Reynolds Wrap; his recently unearthed sex tape with the cast of Fox & Friends; an album of children's songs about Civil War wounds (in which he tried to rhyme the word gangrene); and finally a clip from his new film, The Notebook 2, costarring "Conan McAdams."

"I don't recall being involved in anything like this," Conan O'Brien insisted.

"Remember that vacation we took in Tijuana a couple of years ago, and we split that bottle of absinthe?" Reynolds replied. "Well, we fell in love and I filmed it."

"How's my stomach taste? You have the longest tongue in show business. My God," Reynolds asked O'Brien, adding, "That was really something there."

He then joked that his wife, Blake Lively, might be annoyed with him after that amorous embrace. "I'm never going home again," he said.

Lively, 29, who gave birth to the couple's second child in September, posted a photo on Instagram on Wednesday that showed that her husband did indeed come home, and he arrived bearing sweet gifts.

"The ways I know that @vancityreynolds got himself into huge trouble on @teamcoco tonight," she wrote. "Not only did he come home with my true love, @levain_bakery cookies, but he personally toasted them for me and brought me a cup of milk WITH ICE. Literal brownie points."

Then she added a hashtag with a line from The Notebook that Reynolds had also quoted on Instagram: #IfYoureABirdImABird.
