Even though Halloween 2016 is over, Burberry already has Us looking forward to the holiday season. The British fashion brand enlisted Sienna Miller, Lily James, Dominic West and Domhnall Gleeson to star in The Tale of Thomas Burberry, a short film that doubles as a tale of the company’s beginnings and a celebration of the house’s 160th anniversary. According to a Tuesday, November 1, release, Hollywood headed to Shirburn Castle in Oxfordshire, England, to capture the moment. Gleeson plays Burberry founder Thomas Burberry, while Miller acts as Thomas’s fictional first love. Sir Ernest Shackleton — played by West — is a “pioneering polar explorer who wore Burberry gabardine for three Antarctic expeditions,” while James takes on pilot Betty Dawson, a character inspired by Betty Kirby-Green. In 1937, she made history by flying a plane called “The Burberry” from England to Cape Town.
“Thomas Burberry was a remarkable character. He was intensely gifted and very passionate about the real-world potential of what we wear and how it changes us,” Gleeson said in the release. “The film also places real emphasis on the value of creativity and of making things which matter, and manages to do so while simultaneously telling the story of a man who achieved many amazing things, all in 3 minutes – that’s not bad!”
But the film wasn’t just eye candy. There was plenty of beauty inspo to gaze at too. Miller had a natural, rosy glow accomplished with products like Burberry’s Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base ($48, us.burberry.com) and a nude lip, thanks to Lip Velvet in Apricot ($34, us.burberry.com).
