But does he do Elf on the Shelf? Ryan Gosling spoke about his daughters, Esmeralda and Amada, during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday, December 9. Watch what he said in the video above!
But first, the La La Land actor, 36, refreshed Ellen DeGeneres‘ memory. He last dropped by the studio in July.
“She’s a little over 2. Esmeralda is the oldest,” he said. “Amada is 7 months.”
“If you’d let me hang out with you I’d know their names and a little more about them,” DeGeneres, 58, replied.
He quipped: “I’m vetting you.”
As previously reported, Gosling and Eva Mendes welcomed their second child at Providence St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California, on April 29. Amada’s name means “beloved” in Spanish.
This year will be the first time they celebrate the holidays as a family of four. “They must be excited for Christmas!” DeGeneres said on Friday.
“I think so,” Gosling said, joking: “Es was a little too young last year, but this year I hope so. I don’t think she understands that she can ask for anything yet. It’s a real sweet spot. We can give her anything!”
In December 2015, Gosling kvelled about Mendes, 42, during an interview with Hello magazine.
“I know that I’m with the person I’m supposed to be with,” he said at the time. “[One quality I look for in a woman is] that she’s Eva Mendes. There’s nothing else I’m looking for.”
