You Have to See Nicole Kidman’s Throwback Modeling Photos From the ‘80s

It’s not Thursday, but we’ve got some throwback gold! Nicole Kidman was embarrassed by some of her ’80s modeling shots when host Graham Norton showed them on the December 16 episode of his talk show.

The actress began by talking about her modeling days and a shoot for the now-shuttered Australian teen magazine Dolly. “I got on the cover,” the Lion actress, who hit the talk show with costar Dev Patel and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’s Felicity Jones, told the host (who knew, obviously). Much to Kidman’s surprise, Norton dug up that very issue featuring her with a wild mane of curly red hair, piercing blue eyes and glossy red lips. And you have to check out the cover lines: “Richard Gere on Richard Gere,” “Culture Club’s Boy George Speaks Out” and “Don’t Miss Our Giant Michael Jackson Poster.”

Although the photo shoot happened decades ago, Kidman let Norton in on a secret. “I dyed my hair red,” she revealed. “I was only, like, 14. It wasn’t red like that. Everyone always thinks it was that red, and it wasn’t.”

Thankfully, Norton didn’t just stop at the cover. He also flashed a few shots of the inside spread, with Kidman dressed in all her ’80s glory in a shiny satin blazer, light-wash jeans with rope seaming in the center and red knee-high boots.

“I honestly wish my hair was like that now,” Kidman (who rocked straight shoulder-length blonde locks with a center part) mused. “Anyone who has curly hair that’s young, keep your curly hair. Don’t straighten it, because after a while, you don’t get your curls back. They kind of just become frizz mass.”

Keep watching to see the grand finale photo!
