Nick Cannon revealed during an interview with Power 106 in Los Angeles Tuesday, December 13, that his ex-wife, Mariah Carey, confronted him when she heard that he’s expecting a baby with ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell.
“She came at me first about it, so it was actually easier,” Cannon shared while discussing his third-child-to-be. “I don’t know how she heard about it, but she called me, and she was funny with it. She was like, ‘Mm-hmm, I heard about you out here in these streets.'”
Us Weekly exclusively broke Cannon’s baby news, confirming in November that Bell was pregnant with their child. The America’s Got Talent host later confirmed the news himself during an interview with The Breakfast Club.
The singer shared Tuesday that he has informed his two kids with Carey, Monroe and Moroccan, that he’s expecting a third child. “They’re super excited,” Cannon told Power 106, revealing he told his 5-year-old twins the news during the movie Storks and that he plans on having one big happy family.
“[It was] never an ‘oops baby.’ I’m so calculated with my moves,” Cannon added of the pregnancy. “I’ve always wanted five kids. … Just because my marriage was over didn’t mean I couldn’t continue my family.”
And Bell isn’t random either. Prior to dating, the two were childhood friends. “I wanted to make sure it was someone who was solid, spiritual and had the same views,” he revealed of Bell. “She’s been in my life. Our families grew up in the same projects together in San Diego. So there’s a lot of substance there.”
